Recently, we opened the doors to colleagues, partners, and their families for a special screening of David Attenborough's powerful documentary OCEAN at the Pathé in Vlissingen, Netherlands. Watching the film together created something special, a shared moment of reflection, and renewed commitment.
OCEAN, released in 2025, is a powerful documentary that reveals the wonders of the ocean while underscoring the urgent need to protect marine life. It highlights the critical role of marine protected areas (MPAs), which offer genuine hope for ocean recovery. Described by David Attenborough as one of his most important films, the documentary features stunning visuals and delivers a stark yet hopeful call to global action. This message strongly aligns with our Corporate Social responsibility objectives for the Love Our Oceans campaign, which is why we felt it was important to share the film and its message with all who attended.
The experience went beyond viewing the documentary. It sparked meaningful conversations, inspired children to ask what they could do to help, and reminded us all what we can all do to make a change. Before the screening, colleagues shared their most treasured ocean memories in a short film that beautifully illustrates why healthy oceans are worth protecting. These personal stories demonstrate the deep connection we all feel to the sea and highlight the vital role Damen Yachting plays in marine conservation.
